Michael Cherwayia Thao, CEO/President of Generational Financial Group, Inc. formerly known as Advisors of America, Inc., founded in 2008.  Generational Financial Group (GFG) is an independent marketing company that offers financial products and services with a mission to help one family at a time to have a "Proper Protection with Full Coverage" toward building wealth for generations.  GFG is a nationwide company.

Michael Cherwayia Thao came to the United States of America in 1978.  Thao came to Minnesota and grow up in the Minnesota.  Thao graduated with a BS in Computer Science, Minor in Mathematic and Physic in 1991.  Through out Thao’s life, he is a businessman, a community and political activist.  Thao currently served as a Treasurer/Fundraising Chair of MN Hmong/Lao Veterans Statue Committee to establish a monument to remember the falling soldiers in the “Secret War” in Laos.  Thao lead a campaign fundraising team, raised more than $230,000 from the community, local businesses and organizations and $450,000 from the State of Minnesota Bonding Bills to build the monument. 

Thao also served as a Treasurer of Minnesota DFL Asian Pacific, Financial , Treasurer for Committee for World-Class Schools (St Paul Public School Tax Levy), Co-Treasurer of Eastside for Mee Moua, State Senator Mee Moua, for Ellen R. Anderson For Senator, State Senator Ellen R. Anderson, Treasurer for Neighbors For Thao, Saint Paul School Board Neal Thao, Secretary and Board of Directors of North East Neighborhood Development Corporation, Chair – Silver Maple District (Boys Scout of America), Treasurer of Hmong American DFL Caucus, Chairperson of Planning Committee - Peoples Network of Minnesota, Inc., Treasurer of Hmong Youth Association of Minnesota, Inc., Outreach Person for Hmong Student Academic Development Center - U of MN, and the list goes on.

Thao currently host for Hmong Minnesota Radio WIXK AM 1590,  103.3 FM and PebHmong TV.
